What are credits and what are they used for?

Credits are the universal billing unit on Rankion. Every paid action — article generation, keyword expansion, AI visibility run, live SERP check, page deep audit — pulls a fixed number of credits from the team balance before the job starts. If your balance is too low, you get a 402 Insufficient credits back. You can see your current balance and consumption history under Settings → Credits or via the API: see Credits & Rate Limits.

How do I create an API token?

In the dashboard under Settings → API Tokens click "Create new token", give it a name and copy the token immediately — it's only shown once. Auth header: Authorization: Bearer <token>. Details and code examples: Authentication & API Tokens.

Which languages does the AI Content Editor support?

German and English are fully tested. French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch also work production-ready. Other languages are technically supported (via Claude/GPT) but we recommend spot-checking the first outputs.

Does Rankion work with WordPress or Shopify?

Yes. WordPress has a direct publish flow (REST API → draft/published post including featured image). Shopify blog integration works the same way via the Shopify Admin API. You connect your shop once in Settings, after that you can push articles directly from the AI Content Editor.

What is GEO and how is it different from SEO?

SEO = visibility in Google search results (the classic ten blue links). GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) = visibility in the answers of LLMs like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and in Google AI Overviews. GEO doesn't measure whether you're at position 3, but whether your brand is mentioned in the generated answer and whether your domain is used as a citation. The two disciplines overlap — good SEO content is often cited by LLMs too — but the optimization levers are different.

How is AI visibility measured?

You define prompts, personas, keywords and competitors. Rankion queries these prompts at fixed intervals against the real LLM APIs (with and without web search) and parses the answers. For each run you get a GEO score, a list of mentioned brands and a list of citation sources. Details: AI Visibility Tracking.

How long do background jobs run?

Typical runtimes:

  • AI article generation: 30–90 seconds
  • Keyword expansion (A–Z): 2–3 minutes
  • AI visibility run: 1–5 minutes depending on number of prompts × platforms
  • Page deep audit: 30–60 seconds
  • Site crawl: 5 minutes to several hours depending on URL count

The API always returns 202 Accepted with a job/resource ID; you then poll the status endpoint. In the UI, Livewire polls every 5 seconds — you can leave the page and come back later, the status lives in the database.

Where do I find my invoices?

Settings → Billing → Invoices. Every invoice is also automatically sent as a PDF to your account email address.

How can I expand my team account?

Under Settings → Team you invite additional members by email. Every team has its own credit balance, its own API tokens and its own projects. Cross-team access is locked at both API and UI level (403).

How does the agentic chat work?

You ask a question in natural language ("Which of my keywords have dropped out of the top 10?", "Which backlinks to my domain are toxic?"). The agent independently picks the right tools — SQL query against your data, live SERP check, AI visibility score, web scrape — runs them and answers with a structured result. Where is my data stored?

On Hetzner servers in Germany (Falkenstein location). MariaDB database, daily backups, Let's Encrypt SSL. No US cloud provider, GDPR-compliant. DPA available on request.

How can I generate content via the API?

POST /api/v1/articles with keyword + options → 202 Accepted + article_id. You poll the status via GET /api/v1/articles/{id}; once status = completed you get the finished article including markdown, HTML and featured image. Full docs: Articles API.

What happens to unused credits at the end of the month?

On monthly plans, unused credits expire at the end of the billing period. On annual plans, credits are allocated monthly; unused credits from the previous month expire. Top-up packages (one-time) do not expire and stay until they are used up.

How do I report a bug or feature request?

Email info@rankion.ai — for bugs please include a screenshot, browser/OS and (if possible) the approximate time so we can correlate the logs. Feature requests land on our public roadmap, which we review every 4–6 weeks.
