Every prompt in your AI-Visibility project can be assigned to a persona, meaning the audience the question stands for, for example »Purchasing manager, mid-sized company«. You filter and evaluate by these personas. If a persona was detected wrongly, one is missing or one is unnecessary, you can tidy up the list yourself.
Where to manage them
Open your AI-Visibility project and click Monitoring in the page header. On the left of the filter bar you will find the Personas box. A click on Manage opens the list of all personas of this project, each with the number of its prompts. With Completed you collapse it again.
The list also shows names that are only attached to prompts as text, for example from a file import or from older projects. This way you can correct those too.
Create
Enter a name under New persona and click Create. The name may be at most 100 characters long and must be unique within the project, regardless of upper and lower case. The new persona is immediately available in the Persona (optional) field when you create or edit a prompt.
Rename
Click the pencil next to the persona, enter the new name under New name and click Save. All prompts in this project with the old name get the new one. If the new name is already taken, the change is rejected. Two personas are therefore never merged silently.
Older evaluations keep the name they were calculated with at the time.
Delete
Click the bin icon next to the persona. Before anything happens, Rankion asks for confirmation, and the dialog states the number of affected prompts:
- The prompts are kept. They only lose their assignment to this persona. During the next nightly sync they are assigned to one of the remaining personas.
- If no prompt carries the persona, only the persona is removed.
- With Cancel everything stays as it was. Only Delete persona deletes.
If you delete the last persona of a project, the nightly sync creates new personas using AI as soon as there are prompts without a persona.
Who sees the actions
Only those who may edit AI visibility in this project see the Manage button. Those who may only read do not see it.

Deleting takes two steps: without confirm: true the endpoint responds with 409, states the number of affected prompts in affected_prompts and changes nothing. Only with confirm: true is the persona deleted. None of the calls cost credits.
