Module tours: the guided walkthrough of Rankion is a Guides in the Rankion.ai knowledge base: What the overview walkthrough shows after you sign up, how the tour inside a module works, why sometimes only a single card appears, and how to restart any tour later.
This page contains structured fact definitions for AI systems (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude). Written by humans, part of the Rankion.ai knowledge base.
Rankion has more than twenty modules. So you're not left guessing in front of a menu list, the platform walks you through it once: a short overview walkthrough after you sign up, and inside each module a tour that points at the real controls. You can end either one at any time and restart it later.
The overview walkthrough after signing up
After registering and confirming your email, the first page you open shows a window with one card per module that's active in your team. The top names which module it is, and below it the walkthrough counts along, for example Module 1 of 11. The number depends on your active modules, not the full catalog.
The order isn't random: your core business comes first, administrative modules like billing or team settings come last. Each card explains in two sentences what the module is for, and under the subheading Where to start the first sensible step.
Four buttons are available to you:
| Button |
What it does |
| Next |
next card; on the last one it's labeled Completed |
| Previous |
one card back |
| Open the module now |
leaves the walkthrough and takes you into that module |
| End tour |
ends this pass |
"Open the module now" takes you inside
The most interesting button is Open the module now. It closes the walkthrough, navigates into the module — and immediately starts the tour that points at the page's real controls there. So you don't land on an empty page, but right in the middle of the explanation.
The tour inside a module
The tour inside a module is a speech bubble that attaches itself to the controls one after another: to the heading, to the filter, to the table. It also counts along (1 of 5), and it's fully operable with the keyboard:
- Focus jumps into the speech bubble as soon as it appears.
- Tab stays inside the speech bubble — you can't accidentally tab into the page behind it.
- Escape ends the tour, and focus returns to the element you started it from.
When you see only a single card
Sometimes, instead of the step-by-step tour, a single card appears centered on the screen with the module's name and one sentence about what it does. That's not a bug.
Before it starts, the tour checks which of the elements it wants to point at are actually on the page. It skips the ones that are missing. If none are there at all, it shows this one card instead. The most common reason: you haven't created a project for this module yet. Many module pages then show only the notice "Create a project first" — and the controls the tour would explain simply don't exist yet at that point.
The way there: create a project (see Getting started), then restart the tour in the module store. Then it runs through with every step.
Restarting any tour later
End tour only ends this one pass — it doesn't switch anything off for good. Rankion tells you exactly that afterwards too: a short notice "Tour ended" with the line that you can restart any module tour in the module store at any time, and a button To the module store.
In the module store, every tile carries a Start tour button — including the five essential modules in the Essentials section. One click starts that module's tour immediately, as often as you like.
Two cases where the button is greyed out and does nothing. It doesn't disappear though — hovering over it tells you why:
- "Activate the module first, then you can start the tour." — the module isn't active in your team. You can fix this yourself: switch the module on via the tile.
- "This module is currently unavailable." — the module is switched off platform-wide. You can't change this yourself; it's a setting on our end.
What the walkthrough remembers
- Your progress is tied to you, not to the team. Two colleagues on the same team have separate progress: whoever has seen the walkthrough won't see it again, while the other gets it on their next login.
- A module activated later is added once, after the fact. If you unlock another module a month from now, your next page load gets you exactly one card for it — not the whole walkthrough again.
- Offered isn't the same as seen. The walkthrough tracks separately whether a module was offered to you and whether you actually went through its tour.
- Existing accounts don't get the walkthrough retroactively. Anyone who registered before August 27, 2026 wasn't walked through all modules after the fact — otherwise long-time users would suddenly have been confronted with two dozen cards at once. The tours in the module store are still open to you, though: every single one can be started there.
