Identify real competitors
"Competitors" aren't automatically your biggest industry rivals. SEO competitors are the domains ranking for your top keywords — often smaller niche sites whose content strategy you can absolutely copy. Search your top keyword on Google, take the top 10 domains, and compare with your business competitor list.
Start Competitor Analysis
In the "Competitor Analysis" module, enter up to 5 competitor domains. Rankion crawls their content, extracts keyword rankings (via SerpAPI), and backlink profiles (via Common Crawl) — runs 10-15 min and costs 30 credits per competitor.
Find content gaps
The most important view is the "Content Gap Matrix". It shows all keywords where at least one competitor ranks — and you don't. Sorted by estimated traffic potential.
Tip
"At least 3 competitors rank" filter is gold — if 3 of 5 competitors rank for a keyword, it's a proven topic, not a fluke.
Analyze top-performing content
Click a competitor → "Top Pages". You see the 50 highest-traffic pages with word count, H2/H3 count, external/internal link count, readability score. From this you read the "success pattern" of your competition.
Derive and execute strategy
- › Pick top 3 content gaps with highest traffic potential
- › Push directly to "Articles" — keywords are already flagged
- › Match your article word count to the competitor median minimum
- › Enrich your articles with "what competitors don't have" (data, cases, personal angle)
